10. Online Collaboration

What's good y'all? I'm just gonna jump right into it this week. Online collaboration is a very valuable tool that even 1st graders in NJ are taking advantage of. Technology is really changing the way we learn, its kinda crazy. I don't even think that I had access to the internet in the 1st grade. The only thing schools' need to remember to do is block off certain sites which are not appropriate for all the little ones. By utilizing the internet at such a young age it is going to prepare young children for high school/college/real world far more than previous generations because online collaboration is one of the most helpful aspects that can used to complete homeworks, write papers, and work on group projects. If you want even more information about online collaboration in schools then check out the article I read.

The second article I read discussed how corporate culture drives online collaboration and not technology. I couldn't agree more with this article. If the corporate culture that you work in takes part in online collaboration and encourages/requires you to use it then you will but if not it is very easy to ignore online collaboration. The technology is there and will always be there but if the corporation doesn't make it apart of their culture then its something, besides IT people, that will not be utilized.

I suggest you guys to check out both articles. The Bosssssss is peacing out y'all...CHURCH.

  1. I read the same article about the 1st graders in NJ. It shocked me to find out that those kids are using social medias and outlets to explore the net as well as obtain material for research. I remember doing book reports with actual BOOKS. Things have seriously changed

  2. Since the future business realm will be centered on computers, children are encouraged to start early. The Internet is like a gold mine of valuable information if use properly. I agree that online collaboration will work well for a company only if the practice is encouraged (or mandated) at the management level.

  3. Going off of what Samantha said, I think it's interesting that kids are learning more and more advanced technologies earlier. If they're doing things in first grade that we did in middle school, the'll be IT geniuses by the time they're in high school. It will have a big impact on the workforce after that.

  4. Drew great points that with kids using technology earlier and earlier in the classroom, it will prepare them far faster for the real world. Online collaboration is definitely a tremendous tool and one which I'm sure today's youth will find advantageous

  5. I agree with everyone. Introducing kids to technology at an early age is a great way to prepare them for college and work.

  6. The only problem I would foresee for children learning so young is if they are prepared to actually get some work done. I know if I was able to get my hands on the computer chances are I'm going straight to the games. I think it could be easy at times for kids to fake getting work done in which case it might be beneficial to only ween kids into online tools.
